Lyric Preschool gives students a balanced amount of structure and freedom—they have a schedule but can make many of their own choices within that schedule. Every morning at around 9 am, the kids gather for Circle Time. They all cozy up on a bright, plush carpet around their teacher and work together as a group for about fifteen minutes. Mr. Curtis explains that Circle Time teaches the kids to sit quietly and listen and function as a group. It isn’t reasonable to expect them to sit still and be quiet for long periods at this age.

After Circle Time, the kids scatter throughout the classroom and chose their own activities. Their teachers supervise and facilitate their play, which melds into learning and tactile development, while Mr. Curtis gleefully plays the piano in the corner of the room. He, the teachers, and the students sing together and create a joyous environment wherein the children do not seem to realize the extent of their multi-tasking.

Director Bio - Curtis Tom

My name is Curtis Tom, and I am the director and proud owner of Lyric Preschool. I did not realize early childhood education was my calling until my son started school at two. I became deeply interested in my son’s new day-to-day environment and decided to change my professional direction, pursuing a career in early childhood education. I went back to school and got a degree in Childhood Development, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. In 1990, I acquired Lyric Preschool, which had already served the community for 25 years. Some preschools are play-based, and some are more academic; we try to split the difference and have balance. Each week, there is a new theme at Lyric, such as Jobs People Do, Our Five Senses, Pets, and Weather. The children learn to relate to each theme through songs, arts and crafts, toys, puzzles, and books. It has been such a rewarding experience for me to serve these children and families alongside wonderful staff.

We believe in transparent pricing. We offer different prices based on your child's age, day or time of week. These prices are subject to change and may not be comprehensive. They are as follows:

Age Band

We also charge $25 every 15 minutes, when parents drop off early or pick up late without advanced purchase of early dropoff or late pickup sessions.

This location offers a 20% Book by Week discount. The discount applies to full-week bookings (Monday through Friday) even if blackout dates reduce available days to a minimum of four. Discount does not apply to partial-week bookings.

Rescheduling a session within 72 hours (~3 days) is treated as a cancellation of the original session and will not be eligible for BumoCredit. For weeklong bookings, the session start time is the first booked day of the week for that weeklong booking.
